Uruguay and South Korea will play one of the last games on this 1st matchday of the World Cup finals in Qatar. According to the specialists neither of the two opponents is really among the favourite. We couldn't expect an easy game for the South Americans. We already saw what Japan made against Germany. The football in Korea and Japan is almost in equal level. The South Koreans are tough footballers who have improved in quality in recent years, but have rarely been able to impress on the world stage - apart from the home World Cup in 2002. Unforgotten is of course the appearance at the last World Cup when they managed to contributed to the end of the Jugi Low era in the German national team after 2-0 win. Against Uruguay we could expect a tough affair in which the team which want to more the victory really have to throw everything into the game in order to actually win. The Tigers of Asia are having the most World Cup appearances by any Asian nation and qualifying for the finals for 10 consecutive years. Since 1986, along with South Koreans, only Germany, Spain, Argentina and Brazil have appeared at every World Cup. |
