| Atalanta definitely seems to be out of breath. The fire, which was still blazing in the club colors blue and black in the first half of the season, has now gone out. After all, the club based in Bergamo have lost four of their last six league games and thus suffered the same number of defeats as in the first 20 rounds of the 2022-23 Serie A season combined. The departure of Ruslan Malinovskyi in the winter break was a critical transfer manoeuvre, but the injury-related absence of Koopmeiners, who was supposed to replace the Ukrainian in central midfield, really let this crisis to grow. Without Malinovskyi and Koopmeiners, the team simply lacks a playmaker who knows how to skilfully build ip the game in the final third of the game. It is therefore probably no coincidence that the team, which has been scoring goals in recent years, has not netted for more than 270 minutes of the game. In fact, Friday's game could be more tricky one because the visiting Empoli is an incredibly tough club that has caused Atalanta problems in the past. |
